Credits I'd like to thank all of the PoundMac'ers for helping me test this thing and get it up and running––especially for showing all the patience when Codpiece had a diseased TextBinary routine and crashed ever five seconds. These are namely Primary, usurper, Igor, Corum, ombra, and a few others. Without their help, this thing never would'a worked. Parting Shots I want to take a few moments to say a few things about Codpiece and IRC. When Codpiece was first designed, it was provided as a client to Homer to allow for the real-time recording and sharing of sound files. As things progressed, it became obvious that Codpiece was useful more in the area of "voice annotating" an IRC conversation. This is a situation where everyone running Codpiece has the same sounds, and at the appropriate times, Codpiece users play appropriate sounds. For instance, laughter, boo-ing, etc. It turned into a tool with which to enhance the IRC experience. In light of the amount of bandwitch that IRC is able to provide, it's recommended that Codpiece be used as just this sort of tool. The actual sending of sound data is only for synchronizing the sound files of those sharing the Codpiece session. In fact, recent, more strict flooding detection of the post 2.8 IRC servers makes it necessary to increase the default Send Packet Delay to as high as 150 ticks (3 seconds.) If you find that the IRC server is killing your client connection because of "Excess Flood," increase the Send Packet Delay until this no long occurs. IRC is an incredibly valuable tool, and we here at the PoundMac Software Consortium are dedicated to enhancing the IRC experience as much as possible. By providing tools which hook into IRC via the most excellent program called Homer, IRC can be a multimedia experience. Look for the programs HomerPaint and HomerTank as well. Have fun.
